    Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc. (“Ferrara”), a leading custom fire apparatus and rescue vehicle manufacturer that engineers and manufactures vehicles for municipal and industrial customers. The Ferrara product portfolio includes multiple fire apparatus configurations tailored to the specific requirements and demands of the fire service industry – including custom-builds on their own chassis as well as solutions on commercially available chassis such as Freightliner and International. This acquisition enhances REV’s product offering in its Fire Group within its Fire & Emergency segment, particularly with custom chassis pumpers, aerials and industrial apparatus.


    The Environmental Health & Safety Manager (EH&S) is responsible for administering, progressively developing and delivering systems that drive safe operating practices. This role is responsible for cultivating a productive, healthy and accident free workplace by establishing and promoting safety policies and coordinating with managers and employees to perform work in accordance with procedures in compliance with regulatory Health, Safety, and Environmental laws and industry standards.


    • Develops, reviews and conducts health and safety training, orientation, and pre-hire testing.
    • Establishes and reviews the Company’s HSE Record Keeping systems.
    • Manages inventory and procures all safety equipment and PPE.
    • Respond to environmental incidents, coordinating all abatement efforts through completion.
    • Provides resources and information to Operations.
    • Reviews, addresses, proposes and/or resolve all health and safety concerns.
    • Maintains OSHA logs and Incident Reports and investigates all accidents.
    • Maintains and ensures that all DOT testing is conducted in a timely and appropriate manner.
    • Holds a chair on the Safety Committee.
    • Teaches various safety classes on a wide variety of topics throughout the company.
    • Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.
    • Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of EHS training programs.
    • Be the internal lead contact and administrator for training programs.
    • Assist with activities pertaining to fire safety including involvement with fire drills; evaluation of life safety compliance; development, implementation and maintenance of emergency action plans, fire prevention plans and emergency response plans.
    • Coordinate all written programs to ensure they are updated when there are personnel, or physical changes that affect those programs and all employees are trained to these changes to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT, regulations and annual training are given to affected employees.
    • Ensure that Tier II, Sec 312, Form R, Sec 313, Large Hazardous Waste Generation, Air Emissions Title V, and any future Government mandated reports are filed in a timely manner.
    • Coordinates all hazardous waste activities to include: storage containers, weekly hazardous waste container inspections, disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with all local, State and Federal Rules and regulations, hazardous waste handling training and record retention.
    • Updates the Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan and emergency phone list when information changes.
    • Maintain constant awareness of changing regulations, ensuring the company’s Environment, Health and Safety policies and training are aligned with current laws and industry standards.
    • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those in contact on a day to day basis.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as required.


    • Bachelor's degree in industrial hygiene, safety sciences, environmental sciences, engineering or public health.
    • 5+ years EHS experience.
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
    • Certified Industrial Hygienist-CIH desired.
    • OSHA 501 and 511, HAZWOPER and HAZOM and CPR and First Aid certified.
    • Demonstrated effective people coaching, training and influencing skills
    • Basic proficiency in the use of MS Office products
    • Comfortable with functions is both office and warehouse/shop floor work environments
    • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 4-0 pounds.  Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
